UNTRR encourages transport operators to use TIR and TIR-EPD to benefit from prioritised formalities at Albita (RO) – Leușeni (MD) and Siret (RO) - Porubne (UA) border crossing points
The National Union of Road Hauliers from Romania, UNTRR, organized on June 27, 2024 at Albita border customs office the meeting with the Romanian Customs Authority, AVR, the International Road Transport Union, IRU, the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova SVRM, the International Association of Road Hauliers of Moldova, AITA, the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine, ASMAP UA, and the Union of Road Transport Associations in the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Region, BSEC-URTA. Following the discussions, it was agreed to prioritize TIR operators who have submitted TIR-EPD.
On August 1, 2024, as part of a pilot project, the Romanian Customs Authority added AEO/empty trucks priority corridor the TIR carnet holders who use the TIR-EPD application for electronic pre-declaration, at the border crossing points Siret (RO) - Porubne (UA) and Albita (RO) – Leușeni (MD). AVR installed the new information panels that signalize this control lane.
UNTRR encourages road transporters from all countries using Siret and Albita border crossing points to use TIR System and TIR-EPD to benefit from priority and of reduced waiting times at these border crossing points.
