RO e-Transport System – fines for not sending GPS coordinates in the system - update
Since April 1, 2025, when fines apply for not introducing the UIT code in the e-transport application, and not transferring the positioning data of the transport vehicle, many transport companies complained that the application does not work properly, either it does not open at all, either it stops after a period of working.
Following UNTRR’s request to postponement of the application of sanctions related to e-Transport System, the National Agency of Fiscal Administration (ANAF) informed that ”Considering the possible difficulties that may be encountered by both Romanian and foreign transport operators in transmitting geolocation data, for the coming period, the activity of monitoring the transport of goods based on the provisions of the RO e-Transport System will focus mainly on guiding the transport operators to comply with the obligation to transmit geolocation data”. In the coming period the focus will be on guiding/informing drivers and transport companies on the use of e-Transport application.
The obligation for the driver to have the UIT code and to show it to ANAF officers in the event of a traffic control remains in force.
Failure by the driver of the transport vehicle to present, at the request of the competent authorities, the documents that accompany the transport of goods subject to monitoring through the RO e-Transport system together with the UIT code provided, is sanctioned with a fine between 5,000 RON to 10,000 RON, and it applies to the driver.
UNTRR strongly recommends that drivers install the e-Transport application and create an account and test it during this period to get used to it.
Also, if the e-Transport application stops working after the transport started, the driver can continue its journey even if the application does not work.
