RO e-Transport: fines for not sending GPS coordinates in the system up to 100,000 lei
According to Emergency ordinance 41/2022, transport operators are sanctioned with a fine of 10,000 to 50,000 lei in case of natural persons or with a fine from 20,000 to 100,000 lei in case of legal entities if they do not comply with the provisions of art. 82, respectively:
”(1) The road transport operator is obliged to ensure the transfer of current positioning data of the transport vehicle, which are the subject of the declaration, throughout the transport route of the goods that are the subject of monitoring through the RO e-Transport System.
(2) The road transport operator is obliged to equip transport vehicles with telecommunications terminal devices that use satellite positioning and data transmission technologies referred to in art. 4 para. (1) letter b1).”
Also, the driver of the vehicle is sanctioned with a fine from 5,000 lei to 10,000 lei if he does not comply with article 83 which stipulates that the driver must turn on the positioning device before starting the transport on the Romanian territory, respectively to turn off the positioning device only after delivering the goods to the declared delivery place on the national territory or after leaving the Romanian territory.
